First Student Supports New Hampshire Marathon Runners

For the past 14 years, First Student’s Bristol, New Hampshire Location, #12336, has been a corporate sponsor of the New Hampshire Marathon.

On the morning of October 1, six drivers from First Student spent their morning transporting 199 half-marathon runners and 41 kids, who ran in the one-mile race, to four race sites. First Student’s shuttle services alleviated traffic and parking issues along the routes.

The New Hampshire Marathon is one the biggest sporting events in the Newfound, N.H. area and since 1992 it has raised more than $220,750 for local youth-centered, non-profits organizations.

Over the years, athletes from 45 states and 10 countries have participated in this event, which includes a 26.2 mile run and its fellow events including a 13.1 half marathon,10K road race and a kids race.

The event is recognized by Runner’s World magazine as “Bucket List #10 Small Town Marathons” and “Best Small Town Race”.

“It is because of the generosity of businesses such as First Student that we were able to provide the best possible experience for our runners and the community,” said Race Director Dan McLean. “We are so appreciative for what they do for us.”

Location Manager Alison Jones praised the six drivers consisting of Robert Barry, Sandra Blais, Donald George, Linda MacKay, Edward Moses and Joni Whitney, as well as Assistant Location Manager Scott Haines for the incredible job they did in transporting runners and coordinating drivers in a short period of time. “My entire team did an incredible job throughout the day,” said Alison. “As a major business presence in this community, we take our responsibility of corporate leadership very seriously because they directly link to the values of our company.”
