The DriveSmart measures how well locations maximize their fuel efficiency through the winter months and upholding our values of being Accountable for Performance and Setting the Highest Standards. This annual contest grades the results of this initiative.
Location #11323, Central, LA, donated donating $4,550 as a direct result of placing in the top 10 percent in the contest and Location #12601, in in San Mateo, CA ,donated $420 due to placing in the top 25 percent.
“Once I polled our drivers, staff, monitors and technicians about what to do with our winnings, it was unanimous to donate it to our colleagues in Houston,” said Location Manager Rick Hendricks. “The Central Group understands the work and resources needed to get back to normal after a storm, as many of our own Central Team members had to do after the ‘Great Flood’ which happened in Louisiana last year.”
Location Manager Susan Moorehead also conveyed her location’s sentiment, “We wanted to help our fellow First Student team impacted by this storm. My team liked the fact that all donations received go directly to our fellow employees. We wanted to put our values in to action.”
