First Student Recognized for Commitment to Recruiting and Maintaining Diverse Workforce

June 5, 2014

CINCINNATI – First Student has been named a Certified Age-Friendly Employer™ by RetirementJobs.com. The designation recognizes employers that make a special effort to improve age diversity by recruiting and retaining workers over the age of 50.

“Employees over the age of 50 bring a unique set of values including knowledge, experience and reliability to the workplace,” said Tiffany Wehrum, First Student Senior Manager, HR & Central Background Checking Unit. “First Student has made a commitment to recruiting these individuals to continue adding diversity and experience to our team.”

The certification is granted after a rigorous evaluation that includes a review of an employer’s human resource and management policies.

Since the program began in 2006, nearly 100 companies have been certified by RetirementJobs.com as age-friendly employers.
