First Student locations in Central Connecticut recently collected nearly 4,000 cans of soup to donate to area food banks. The locations conducted the food drive during the month of October to benefit those in need throughout the community.
Seventeen First Student locations participated in the soup can collection including:

- Bolton
- Branford
- Bristol
- Chester/Westbrook
- CREC-Bloomfield, Hartford, East Hartford
- East Lyme
- Hamden
- Hebron
- Lisbon
- Manchester
- Middlebury/Southbury
- New Haven
- Norwich
- South Windsor
- Vernon
- West Hartford
Since 2011, First Student locations in Central Connecticut have collected nearly 11,500 cans of soup for area food banks.
