First Student Donates Bus for Police Training Exercise

December 4, 2014

CINCINNATI— The City of Dunkirk Police Department recently utilized a First Student bus and driver as part of a Special Response Team (SRT) training exercise in Dunkirk, N.Y. The drill, which was conducted October 22, allowed officers to train for various emergency situations.

“We were pleased to assist police with this training exercise,” said Sean McCabe, First Student Area General Manager. “The safety and security of the students we transport to and from school each day is our core value, and we fully support those organizations who strive to ensure the safety of our community.”

Safety training is not new to the largest student transportation provider in North America. All First Student drivers receive more than 50 hours of classroom and behind-the-wheel training before transporting any students. The instruction includes such topics as student behavioral management, bus safety and emergency procedures.
