First Student Sedalia Sponsors Art Contest

March 3, 2012

CINCINNATI — The walls of First Student’s new bus facility in Sedalia, MO, will be a little brighter this spring, thanks to the creativity of students. The largest provider of school transportation in North Americais sponsoring an art contest in the Sedalia 200 District, with a prize of $1500 for supplies and awards. A tornado destroyed the bus barn last May, and 10 pieces of art created by students in grades 7 through 12 will be selected to hang in the new facility one year later.

“The artwork created by students will be a powerful visual reminder for our drivers of the tremendous responsibility they undertake every time they get behind the wheel,” said Connie Miller, First Student location manager. “Safely transporting the students of Sedalia 200 is our main focus, and we are proud to be a member of this community.

The winners will be selected as part of the student art show at Smith-Cotton High School in May.
