First Student, Missouri Comets and American Cancer Society Partner Against Cancer

The Missouri Comets along with the Kansas City branch of First Student, and the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge are joining forces in an effort to ease the burden of those fighting cancer in Kansas City.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge provides free housing to cancer patients traveling to Kansas City for treatment. At Hope Lodge, patients live with other patients going through similar experiences and are supported by caring staff and volunteers.

On December 5, 2014, Hope Lodge guests and staff are invited to root on the 2014 Major Indoor Soccer League Champions as they take on the 2014 PASL Champions Chicago Mustangs in a regular season Major Arena Soccer league match.

First Student, the industry leader in safe, reliable school bus transportation, will be providing complimentary rides to and from the Independence Event Center.

“At First Student, our vision to keep people moving and communities prospering,” commented First Student Area General Manager Mike Shedor. “It is our privilege to realize that vision by improving the quality of life for people fighting cancer.”

Both the guests and staff of the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge are invited to attend the game at no cost. “It is our hope that this experience will lift spirits and give those who give back an opportunity to have a great night out!” said Scott Levinson, V.P. Business Operations with the Missouri Comets.
