Nine First Student drivers will be among those putting their skills to the test at the 2018 School Bus Driver International Safety Competition. The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) hosts the event during its annual meeting and convention.
The best school bus drivers from across North America demonstrate their abilities through written and driving tests. Top drivers are named in conventional, transit and small bus categories.
First Student drivers competing in the safety competition include:

- Jennifer Goodwin – St. Charles, Mo.
- Debra Kay L’Abbe – Prairie View, Ill.
- Dana Marshall – Wichita, Kan.
- Melissa Melser – Anoka, Minn.
- David Parker – Grants Pass, Ore.
- Hannah Scharfenberg, St. Charles, Mo.
- Holly Torres – Eugene, Ore.
The international safety competition takes place July 21 and 22 in Philadelphia. Drivers qualify by placing in the top 10 of their state or provincial competition.
