    First Student to Provide Transportation for the World Baton Twirling Federation International Cup in Jacksonville, Fla.

    Navasota Independent School District Chooses First Student as School Transportation Provider

    First Student, Inc., the nation's leader in student transportation, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide school transportation to the Navasota Independent School District in Texas. The company will provide transportation services as well as 35 school buses to the district beginning with the 2011-2012 school year. First Student is in the process of hiring the district's current drivers and will add additional staff from the local area.

    First Student Partners with Fox 19 and Q102 for the 6th Annual Backpack Challenge

    First Student is once again teaming up with Fox 19 and Q102 in Cincinnati for the 6<sup>th</sup> annual Time Warner Cable Backpack Challenge to collect school supplies for students in the Greater Cincinnati area. This year's goal is to receive enough supplies to fill 1,500 backpacks for students supported by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, the Brighton Center and Inner City Youth Opportunities. Donations can be made in person at three live broadcast events in July and August as well as Remke bigg's and Time Warner Cable locations across Cincinnati.

    First Student drivers and staff received high honors at the National School Transportation Association's (NSTA) Annual Awards Program held at the organization's 2011 meeting and convention in Baltimore on July 19. Todd Monteferrario, area general manager, North Haledon, N.J.; Nancy Schulz, training center manager, Olathe, Kan.; and Doug Payelle, driver, Kodiak, Alaska; were honored with three of NSTA's top awards for their contributions to the student transportation industry and the communities they serve.

    Thirteen First Student drivers from across the U.S. and Canada qualified to compete at the National School Transportation Association's (NSTA) 41<sup>st</sup> Annual School Bus Driver International Safety Competition. This prestigious event features school bus drivers competing in a driving skills challenge and written exam to determine the top drivers in Conventional, Transit and Small Bus categories for 2011. This year's competition takes place July 16-17 in Baltimore, Md.
