First Student to Host Job Fairs in Wichita

Company partners with Workforce Solutions to fill school bus driver positions

CINCINNATI—First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, will host two open job fairs on June 8 and 22, to fill approximately 200 school bus driver positions for Wichita Public Schools USD 259. The company is seeking applicants with or without a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and will provide all necessary training for those in need of a CDL. First Student begins the first of a seven-year contract with the district in August.

The job fairs will be held at the Wichita Workforce Center, located at 150 N. Main, Suite 100, on Tuesday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested applicants who are unable to attend the job fairs may submit an application at the First Student location in the Office This Building at 4031 East Harry. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applicants must be able to pass all background checks and drug screens. Prospective drivers must also be able to safely transport students in a timely manner and complete all pre- and post-trip shift activities. Applicants should possess a sincere desire to work with the public, follow all traffic and corporate regulations, and meet additional company requirements.
