First Student Seeking Drivers in Lutcher, La.

CINCINNATI—First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, seeks qualified applicants to join the company’s new team in Lutcher, La., serving the St. James Parish Schools. First Student begins a five-year contract with the district in April.

Interested applicants should apply in person at the First Student Lutcher office located at 1876 West Main Street, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applicants must understand the importance of driving a school bus and make safety their core value. Potential drivers must:

  • Be able to safely transport students in a timely manner and complete all pre- and post-trip shift activities.
  • Be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving experience.
  • Possess a sincere desire to work with the public, follow all traffic and corporate regulations, and meet additional company requirements. 
  • Pass the company’s extensive background checks, drug and alcohol tests, and rigorous training program, which includes in-classroom, behind-the-wheel and safety training for new drivers.
