CINCINNATI—First Student, the nation’s leader in student transportation, has named Dennis Ryan contract manager for the company’s Niles, Mich. location, which serves Niles Community Schools. Ryan manages all aspects of daily transportation operations for the location, including maintenance, safety and training. A long-time resident of Niles, Ryan brings more than 25 years of transportation management and logistics experience, as well as familiarity with the company to his new position.
“Dennis has been with us for two years and has already proven to be a tremendous asset to the team,” said Doug Meek, region operations manager, First Student. “As a Niles resident, he is dedicated to taking an active role in the community and ensuring the safe transportation for the students in the district.”
Ryan joined the company in 2008, and was most recently operations supervisor for the Niles location. Prior to First Student, he was the director of transportation for Truck Accessories Group in Elkhart, Ind.
Ryan is active within the community, serving on the school district’s strategic planning commission. He holds a bachelor’s degree in American Institutions from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
