CINCINNATI —FirstGroup America, the largest public transportation company in North America, will sponsor Cincinnati’s Flying Pig Marathon this Sunday, and will provide First Student school buses to transport race participants for the second year in a row. The company, headquartered in Cincinnati, is also backing employee participation in the annual downtown fete to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this important Queen City tradition,” said Mike Murray, President and CEO of FirstGroup America. “I am proud to be a part of a company whose employees readily embrace opportunities to not only be involved in their community, but also give back by supporting causes like Children’s Miracle Network.”
“We are excited about having FirstGroup America return to the Flying Pig Marathon,” said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director of the marathon. “Their dedication and service to the ‘Pig’ is greatly appreciated.”
First Student, a division of FirstGroup America and the largest student transportation provider in North America, will donate 40 buses and drivers to shuttle race participants between parking locations and the race start and finish areas. First Student was recently awarded the entire student transportation contract for Cincinnati Public Schools.
