First Student Awarded Student Transportation Contract with the Homewood School District 153 in Homewood Ill
CINCINNATI— First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, has been awarded the contract to provide student transportation for the Homewood School District 153 in Homewood, Ill., beginning August 31, 2009. First Student is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America’s largest transportation company.
The contract is a three-year agreement which includes the operation, maintenance and management of a fleet of 20 vehicles.
“School buses are the safest way for children to get to and from school and we are pleased to be able to provide quality student transportation services for Homewood School District 153,” said David Duke, Senior Vice President of Sales for First Student. First Student brings a number of advantages to each school district we serve including a focus on customer service and safety, as well as cost savings that allow administrators to reallocate tax dollars into the classroom. With the growth we are experiencing, we are able to reinvest in new technologies, such as GPS systems on every bus.”
Knowledgeable drivers are a terrific asset and First Student will evaluate all existing local employees who presently serve the district. Current drivers who meet First Student driver requirements are encouraged to apply.
All school buses in First Student’s fleet, will have high-definition GPS tracking systems installed by 2010.
