First Student Signs New Contract with Avon Central School District in Avon, N.Y.
CINCINNATI— First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, has signed a contract to provide student transportation for the Avon Central School District in Avon, N.Y., beginning July 1, 2009. First Student is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America’s largest transportation company.
The contract is an agreement which includes the operation, maintenance and management of a fleet of 15 district-owned vehicles.
“We welcome the opportunity to serve the students and families of the Avon Central School District,” said David Duke, Senior Vice President of Sales for First Student. “School buses are clearly the safest way for children to get to and from school, and we are committed to providing safe, efficient, quality student transportation services for the families and children of Avon who rely on us each day.”
All school buses in First Student’s fleet, will have high-definition GPS tracking systems installed by 2010. First Student core values of safety and customer satisfaction are evident through the regular investments it makes in its fleet, adoption of new technologies and enactment of stringent safety policies and operational procedures. First Student drivers are skilled professionals who are trained to provide the highest level of safety for the 4 million students they transport to and from school each day.
