First Student Awarded Merced County Office of Education Student Transportation

CINCINNATI— First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, has been awarded the student transportation contract for the Merced County Office of Education in Merced, Calif., beginning July 1, 2009. First Student is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America’s largest transportation company. 

 
The contract is a 5-year agreement which includes the operation, maintenance and management of a fleet serving 86 routes.

Knowledgeable drivers are a terrific asset and First Student will evaluate all existing local employees who presently serve the district. Current drivers who meet First Student driver requirements are encouraged to apply.
 
All school buses in First Student’s fleet, will have high-definition GPS tracking systems installed by 2010.
