Safety Dog

Teaching children about safety through a fun and friendly mascot

Meet Safety Dog!

“I love my job! I travel all over the country to meet the teachers, parents and students in our communities,” says Safety Dog. “I remind them of safe school bus behaviors. I love meeting new people!”

Safety Dog, First Student’s safety mascot, helps students put a face on safety while understanding the importance of safe school bus behavior.

When meeting Safety Dog, students have a chance to understand the important role they play in school bus safety in a fun, interactive and memorable way.

Safety Dog is just one more example of First Student’s commitment to safety and the communities we serve.

“I’m a safety ambassador! I embrace First Student’s dedication to safety,” says Safety Dog. “It’s why I’m here.”

Safety Dog Bus Tour

“This was the best day of my life so far.”
– Student in New Castle, Pennsylvania during a Safety Dog Bus Tour stop

Safety Dog logs thousands of miles during the annual Safety Dog Bus Tour, a coast-to-coast, back-to-school Tour reinforcing safe behavior.

Students are invited to sign a school bus safety pledge, get a picture with Safety Dog, and “Walk the Yellow Carpet” during each Tour stop. Parents, many of whom hadn’t been on a school bus since they were in school, also have a chance to see firsthand how First Student school buses are designed for safety inside and out.
